About Newberg Downtown Coalition
A collection of business owners, community members, and community leaders who are invested in the success of our downtown
Who We Are
The Newberg Downtown Coalition is a nonprofit organization rooted in one belief: a thriving downtown is good for everyone.
We're a coalition of local business owners, property owners, residents, and community members who care deeply about the future of historic downtown Newberg. We work together — through events, advocacy, beautification, and collaboration — to make downtown a place worth showing up for, every single day.
NDC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. EIN: 27-1747061.
What We Do
Downtown Newberg doesn't happen by accident. It takes planning, partnerships, and a lot of people who show up.
NDC works across three pillars to support a vibrant downtown district:
Physical Improvements We invest in the infrastructure and beauty of downtown — from string lights along E 1st St. to public art installations and participation in city-sponsored parking and beautification initiatives.
Community Events & Promotions We organize the events that bring people downtown and keep them coming back — the Wednesday Market, First Friday ARTwalk, Trick or Treat Street, the Annual Tree Lighting, and more. These aren't just fun — they drive foot traffic, support local businesses, and build the kind of community pride that's hard to manufacture.
Business Support We advocate for downtown businesses through our affiliation with Oregon Main Street, collaboration with the City of Newberg, and partnerships with the Chehalem Valley Chamber of Commerce and George Fox University. When downtown businesses succeed, the whole community benefits.
Designated Newberg Downtown Corridor
Per our bylaws, downtown Newberg roughly spans from Harrison street to the west and River Street to the east, and Sherman Street to the north and 2nd Street to the south (with Memorial Park lumped in).
